Studies and patients

Design a study once, and run it the same way at every site

Set up the protocol, sites and schedule in a guided wizard. Then screen, consent, enrol and follow each patient through visits that open in their windows.

A study wizard that understands animals

Choose the species from a catalogue of 39, and whether you enrol individual animals or groups: pens, flocks, herds, cages or tanks. Decide who owns the animal: a client, a producer, or your institution.

  • Weights in each species’ own unit, stored exactly
  • Ear tags for livestock; microchip numbers are never collected
  • Protocol versions, arms, sites and approvals in one place
  • Copy a finished study as the template for the next

Screening, consent and enrolment

Check eligibility against the protocol, then have the owner sign on a tablet in the exam room or from an emailed link. Enrolment issues the subject code and builds the visit calendar in the same step.

  • Consent versions per site, approved by the coordinating centre
  • Owners stop study emails themselves
  • Institutional studies enrol under an animal-use approval, without owner consent
  • Patients already treated can be added to a study

Visits and case report forms

Each visit opens in its window, in the site’s own time zone, with the forms the protocol asks for. Forms check values as they are entered: hard checks stop completion, and soft checks ask for a comment.

  • Build your own forms, or start from the library: vitals, a CBC, medications
  • Owner questionnaires sent by email and answered on a phone
  • A PDF of every completed form
  • A calendar of upcoming visits, with a private feed for your own calendar

Randomization, blinded when you need it

Permuted blocks stratified by site and your own factors, or the statistician’s sealed list imported. In a blinded study, sites dispense by kit code and only the named unblinded team sees the arms.

  • Emergency unblinding by the treating site’s investigator, with a reason, recorded for good
  • Investigational product lots, dispensing and dose checks against body surface area
  • Blinded staff see enrolment progress, never block sizes

Monitoring built into the record

Monitors raise queries on any value, verify source data field by field and sign their visit reports. Deviations are reported and closed, and the study locks, from a single form to the whole database, with signatures.

  • Each query keeps its whole conversation
  • Changes to a saved record always ask for a reason
  • A lock report shows what is left before database lock
